Final Fantasy IX, like its predecessor, is a game that enjoys a split reception among fans. Some love it, some hate it. I am personally in the “love” category, and often name it as my favorite game in the series. Its sense of humor, retro inspired art design, and unique characters set it apart from other Final Fantasy games, and other RPGs in general.
