Final Fantasy III coming to Steam with achievements and enhanced graphics

The Cloud of Darkness will still be super annoying

If you haven’t yet had the chance to play through the DS version of Final Fantasy III either due to a disturbing lack of handhelds or time, you’ve got a brand new chance to get on it, as Square Enix is planning to release the classic role-playing game via Steam in the near future.

Actually, Square Enix states “soon,” but doesn’t disclose an actual date. The PC version of the JRPG will include improved 3D visuals and story sequences, as well as Steam Achievements and Trading Cards. The bestiary and other aspects have been optimized as well, and Job Mastery Cards will receive new designs. It’s kind of tempting for me, even after completing Final Fantasy III on DS back during a power outage using a generator to charge my dying handheld. Because, you know, Steam.

Are you going to pick up an enhanced PC version of Final Fantasy III or have you already played it enough on another device?
