Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu gets his own app

It takes a lot of people to make the videogames and that you and I enjoy, but how many of those people can boast having an iPhone app dedicated entirely to themselves?  Not many, I imagine, but you can now count Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu among their ranks.  Dog Ear Records, Uematsu’s record label announced today that the Official Nobuo Uematsu App has been released for iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad in both English and Japanese, giving recognition to the huge amount of fans that Uematsu has amassed from outside of Japan.

So, what can you do with this new, free-to-download app?  As seen in the screenshots above, you’ll be able to get the latest news and music release information as well as check out reviews of Uematsu’s music, listen to his work, and watch videos on YouTube and USTREAM.  You can also stare admiringly at the background photo of Uematsu and recall all the memories this man has been responsible for creating from your childhood.

While there is a certain stalker-ish quality about this app, I think it’s a great way to keep updated on an artist whose career has exploded to the point where it’s hard for the average enthusiast to follow.

Will you be downloading the Official Nobuo Uematsu App, and are there others who you think are deserving of an app of their own?
