Final Fantasy becomes a trading card game

Do you remember back in the nineties when every single franchise needed a “collectible card game” of some kind? My personal favorite was Aliens vs. Predator. Seems that whole craze died down years ago, but Square Enix looks set to bring it back by turning Final Fantasy into a CCG.

Square Enix promises that the series will feature some robust gameplay to go along with a selection of pretty cards that are designed to become collector’s items. They’ll feature characters spanning the entire franchise, including Sephiroth (obviously), Zidane and various Summon creatures.

I used to love collecting cards when I was a kid, so I hope this makes it Stateside.
