FFXIV Patch 6.58 begins PvP Season 11, makes upgrading weapons easier

I've got 99 problems and they're all 99 Voidvessel Totems.

With Dawntrail on the horizon, though still with no confirmed release date, Final Fantasy XIV players are waking up to the last patch of the 6.5x era. It’s the bookend on the Anabaseios raid tier, and likely the version of the game you’ll spend the most time with leading into FFXIV 7.0.

FFXIV Patch 6.58 doesn’t have a lengthy list of notes, but what the patch lacks in size, it makes up for in importance. There’s noteworthy changes to the Duty Finder / Raid Finder, adjustments to best-in-slot gear rewards, a new Crystaline Conflict season, and even a Wondrous Tails buff.

Weapon augmentation upgrades and mount-hunting get easier

Perhaps the most exciting change to come out of 6.58 is the ability for all players to now Augment max iLvl weapons in Radz-at-Han. Previously, the Divine Solvent needed in order to do so had been locked behind Pandaemonium Savage raids, but now you’ll need the following in order to augment weapons:

  • 1 Aglaia Coin
  • 1 Euphrosyne Coin
  • 1 Thaleia Coin

Thankfully, the weekly restrictions on Thaleia coins and gear has now been lifted, so players can run the Alliance Raid as many times as you like and stock up on these coins, quickly getting what you need to max out your iLvl for a Job.

Additionally, the Abyssal Fracture (Extreme) is no longer in the Raid Finder and should now be accessible from the Duty Finder. You can also trade in a stack of 99 Voidvessel Totems for the Lynx of Abyssal Grief Flute. You know, just in case you’re also miserably unlucky and don’t roll well on the Horn drop.

Anabaesios adds even more Echo to Savage

Hand-in-hand with the lifted restrictions to Thaleia coins, restrictions on Unsung Blades of Asphedelos have also been lifted. These Unsung Blades can be exchanged for Discal Tomestones, which can then in turn be exchanged for weapons, which can then be augmented using Divine Solvent.

For those looking to add to their Savage loot pile, the Anabaseios tier should now receive more Echo buffs. Instead of a +10% increase, you’ll now get a +15% boost in the most recent and final tier of Pandaemonium. There are no changes to gear with this patch, but the weekly limit was removed in the last update, 6.55.

Wondrous Tails buff rewards more Tomestones of Causality

If you’re lucky enough to get two lines on Wondrous Tails, you’ll be able to claim 1,000 Tomestones of Causality. This reward has doubled with this patch, previously sitting at 500.

Crystalline Conflict – out with the old, in with the new

Season 10 of Crystalline Conflict has come to an end, with Season 11 beginning. Season 11 will run all the way until 7.0, so at some point in Summer, giving you plenty of time to grind your way up the ranks.

If you ranked within the top 100 in your Data Center at the end of Season 10, you’ll soon be receiving vouchers via the Moogle Delivery Service and any rewards must be claimed before the end of Season 11.

Data Center testing takes a new path

With the stress test for the Cloud Data Center coming to an end, players can no longer choose it when selecting a world. Also, you’ll notice that the Oceanian Data Center will now appear in the travel destinations when traveling between Data Centers, but actually traveling there won’t be possible until March 24.
