Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail Collector’s Edition – pre-orders, release date, and bonuses

Dawntrail pre-orders include early access rewards.

The next Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Dawntrail, heads to the MMO on July 2, but you can pre-order the game’s digital and physical Collector’s Editions before launch. During the PAX East 10th Anniversary Panel, we got a glimpse at the minions, mounts, and physical bonuses included in the Dawntrail package, along with the March 26 pre-order date.

When can I preorder the Dawntrail Collector’s Edition?

Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail pre-orders begin on March 26. That includes those interested in both the physical and digital editions of Version 7.0. While you won’t receive physical goodies any time soon, the digital rewards should hit your in-game Moogle Mail shortly after confirming the purchase. Most importantly, pre-ordering gets you the FFXIV early access weekend beginning on June 28.

Where to pre-order the FFXIV Dawntrail Collector’s Editions

As usual, the most likely place to pre-order the FFXIV Dawntrail Collector’s Edition will be through the Square Enix Store. During PAX East, director and producer Naoki Yoshida noted the team has a special site ready to go for pre-orders, hopefully managing long queues and major demand for the MMO’s premium edition. We’ve seen them sell out quickly in the past, so be ready on March 26 with stable internet access and work those raid fingers hard.

The physical version of the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail Collector’s Edition includes:

  • A decorative art box featuring original Viper artwork
  • An expertly crafted Viper figure
  • Adventurer’s cloth map
  • A Notebook in the style of The Unending Journey
  • Adventurer’s Pen Case
  • Everything in the digital version (Ark mount, Wind-up Garnet Minion, Chocobo Brush)

The FFXIV Dawntrail Physical Collector’s Edition will set you back $214.99.

The digital collector’s edition of Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail adds FFIX rewards, including:

  • Ark mount
  • Wind-up Garnet minion
  • Chocobo Brush

If you’re confused and not quite familiar with Final Fantasy IX, that’s not Cruise Chaser. Well, kind of. The Alexander raid boss takes its inspiration from Ark and even earlier from an older Square game, Cruise Chaser Blassty. Square Enix worked its mech back into the MMO with a design true to its Final Fantasy IX iteration, Ark. Like what eventually became of the Cruise Chaser raid boss, Ark is also a mount.

The FFXIV Dawntrail Digital Collector’s Edition will cost $59.99.

Dawntrail pre-order bonuses, Zidane minion and Azeyma Earrings

The Wind-up Zidane minion (left) and Azeyma's Earrings (right) are pre-order bonuses for Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail.

Regardless of collector’s edition or standard, everyone who pre-orders Version 7.0, Dawntrail, will receive the Wind-up Zidane minion and Azeyma’s Earrings EXP boost accessory. Pre-orders begin March 26 via the Square Enix store. You’ll get the bonus in-game items via Delivery Moogle.

Most likely, as it has in the past, the Dawntrail pre-order will e-mail you a code to redeem on the Mog Station — where you manage other Final Fantasy XIV account details and rewards. Redeeming the code should trigger that Moogle delivery with your Zidane minion and new jewelry.
