Are you amped for the return of Shiren the Wanderer? If so, then you’ll be equally amped for this new trailer, providing an overview for what will be the fifth entry in the long-running RPG franchise, headed to PC and Nintendo Switch next month.

Blossoming out of the Mystery Dungeon franchise way back in the mid-1990s, Shiren the Wanderer is a roguelike adventure series which sees the titular hero brave dank caverns and danker dungeons on a series of fantasy adventures, often involving the saving of a nation/planet/galaxy (delete as applicable.)

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate is no exception, and will have our world-worn hero – accompanied by faithful sidekick Koppa – attempt to conquer the subterranean Tower of Fortune, presided over by Reeva, God of Destiny. But with zero weapon drops, an army of monsters, and labyrinthine levels of danger ahead, how low Shiren will go can only be decided by you and your deft questing abilities.

In addition to the new trailer, publisher Spike Chunsoft announced that while Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate will not receive a physical release in the west, Limited Run Games has secured the rights to release its own special edition at some point in the future, with more details to follow at a later date.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate launches December 2 on PC via Steam and on Nintendo Switch via the eShop. Pre-orders are available now on both platforms.
