So I woke up this morning to what might be the greatest videogame news of all time — Sony has released some new Firmware for the PlayStation 3! It seems like we only got the last Firmware less than three months ago, but surely we have to wait years for such wanton delights!

This Firmware brings with it the cloud-based system storage that will only be useful to you if you’ve dropped the cash for the PlayStation Plus subscription. The rest of you do get a little something, though — the ability to configure when your DualShock 3 times out. The boys in the lab who spent four years figuring that one out deserve a medal.

Also, hacker protection! That’ll last a week if we’re lucky.

Of course, all these features are just distractions. Everyone knows the real joy of owning a PS3 is watching a bar slowly fill up with a mucus-green color. I feel privileged I get to do it again!
