FarmVille players raise $110,000+ to help Haiti

Say what you want about FarmVille, but its players are good people. Some of them. The super popular Facebook game has a partnership with nonprofit organization FATEM, and they’re working together to build a school for children in Haiti, to replace the ones wrecked by the January earthquake.

Zynga, FarmVille‘s maker, is donating 50% of all its Sweet Seeds for Haiti program to FATEM for the construction of Ecole du Choic, the School of Choice, in Mirebalais, Haiti. In only one week, more than 45,000 FarmVille players raised $110,000 through the purchase of virtual goods.

In this Sweet Seeds program, FarmVille players can purchase a limited Sweet Yam inside the game. If you’re FarmVille-ing out there, help out!
