Far Cry 3 patch optionally removes most of the HUD

If you were clamoring for a less intrusive HUD for Far Cry 3, you can have it: if you’re a PC owner that is. Just download the latest patch, go to the options menu, and look for the new HUD toggle options under “Gameplay.”

Currently there’s no word on a timetable for the console version of the game, but I can’t imagine too much of a holdup. Considering that this same 1.04 update fixes a number of glitches as well, Ubisoft would probably want this out sooner than later.

I’m personally excited for this patch, because like the Elder Scrolls series, I love running around with a minimalistic HUD, forging my own stories. It would be nice if all open world games shipped with this feature, but I’ll take a patch any day.
