Fairytale Fights bringing hack n’ slash, gore and bunnies!

PlayLogic has today announced a game that has instantly blinked on my radar for the sheer concept alone. Fairytale Fights is the name, and it promises a twisted hack n’ slash adventure as players take on the role of a famous fairytale character and start cutting up bunny rabbits.

“Fairytale Fights is a truly twisted hack’n’slash platform adventure where players assume the role of a much-loved fairytale character, whose glory days have long since passed,” explains PlayLogic. “While embarking on a seemingly innocent journey to save a colorful fantasy world from certain disaster, players traverse a series of colourful and enthralling levels filled to the brim with action-packed combat and fairytale-style storylines.

“Luckily, many different weapons lay strewn throughout the fairytale kingdom, which players can use to slice and dice their way through swathes of cute fluffy bunnies and imposing enemies.”

I’m all for more hack n’ slash games, and if they’re going to throw in rabbit slaughter and sick  plays on old children’s stories, then I am most definitely in. The game is due out in time for the holidays and will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Nice.

“Fairytale Fights is the creative brainchild of our talented development team at Playlogic Game Factory and that’s why we wanted it to be the first “next gen” title that Playlogic build in-house from the ground up,” Rogier Smit, executive vice president for Playlogic. “The game combines a truly unique storyline and fantasy environment with simple intuitive controls to offer players a whole new level of bloody slice-and-dice gaming.”

Playlogic’s custom made in-house technology makes Fairytale Fights the first game ever, in which players can truly dynamically slice through 3D models in real-time! Furthermore, Playlogic has also built a volumetric liquid system that gives liquids realistic properties. Blood will splatter across the surrounding trees and leaves and players can even skid through puddles of blood, left by fallen foes.

Fairytale Fights features state-of-the art graphics, numerous characters, and dozens of missions as well a variety online and offline co-op capabilities. In addition, Fairytale Fights is built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3. More game features and details will be released in the coming months.
