NIS America keeps bringing the thunder, and I keep waving my wallet around like a madwoman. We knew Fairy Fencer F would be available as a digital and physical download for PlayStation 3 in North America on September 23, but now there’s also an official European release scheduled for September 26. Are you hyped? You should be.

This turn-based endeavor features concept art and music from the Final Fantasy dream team: Yoshitaka Amano and Nobuo Uematsu. Tsunako provides the character art, which you’ll likely recognize from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series.

Utilizing the “evolved” version of the Hyperdimension Neptunia combat system, Fairy Fencer F follows a war between the Goddess and the Vile God, whose rivalry caused them to spawn a massive amount of weapons imbued with their energies. The two fought until the bitter end, when they managed to seal the other away.

The weapons they created were long since scattered throughout the world and are known as “Furies” to the brave souls looking to collect them — “Fencers.” If you happen to collect a Fury, you’ll be granted one special wish. Fairy Fencer F focuses on protagonist Fang, who yanks a Fury out of a stone and finds himself a Fencer for life. Chosen one and all that, yadda yadda.

It looks like an intriguing adventure and I know once September rolls around I’ll be ready to check it out. How about you? I’ve been waiting for a localization of this one for some time.
