F1 25 My Team 2.0 Deep Dive: Realistic progression system, new roles, and more

Just the challenge we needed.

My Team 2.0 was the focus of F1 25‘s first official Deep Dive, and the mode is about to receive one of its biggest overhauls in the last five years.

It’s not “2.0” just by name; EA Sports made some stunning changes to how the mode usually worked. Some of the biggest benefits will be greater emphasis on realism, and recreate the true hardships of managing a champion side.

All F1 25 My Team 2.0 changes

The core objective of My Team 2.0 in F1 25 will be similar as in the last few years. You’ll have to manage your driver duo and ensure all the daily tasks are getting done efficiently. Once the weekend arrives, you can choose to race on the circuit as one of your two drivers. Just like in real-life, a lot will go in the background that will have a telling impact on how well your team performs on the circuits.

Facility Management

My Team 2.0 will have three key facilities in the form of Engineering, Corporate, and Personnel.

  • Engineering will be all about R & D, as you’ll have greater control over which parts you want to make and how to use them on your cars. You’ll have to balance a lot of important elements like cost, development time, and more to design the best possible parts. You’ll also have to balance your driver’s morale, which can take a hit if one car receives a bulk of the upgrades.
  • Corporate‘s job will be to devise a functioning financial strategy to ensure positive cash flow. Players will be able to make the most of the new Decal Editor while designing liveries and managing the visual aspect of their team.
  • Personnel: F1 25 will have a dynamic driver contract system, and players can interview multiple drivers before choosing their favorite ones. The negotiations will be face-to-face, but external factors can always jeopardize a driver’s signature on the dotted lines. Players will also have to focus on getting an efficient workforce to ensure that everything is working as intended.

Enhanced Team HQ Environment

The new Team HQ will act as a central hub for players to control the different tasks and activities pertaining to their team. The hub will expand and grow with the team’s staff size and reputation. Players will be able to expand their facilities, complete upgrades, and decide on training courses to aid the drivers’ growth.

Revised Progression System

Accolades will be introduced to the My Team mode after its success in Driver Career, and earning them will boost a player’s team rating among fans. This will unlock useful perks, better opportunities for sponsorships, and get better drivers on board.

EA Sports has also planned a second Deep Dive on April 17 which will provide more insights into gameplay. With more changes like AI teams recruiting iconic drivers for the first time, things will be quite challenging for players in the 2.0 version of My Team.
