Ezio leaps into the current-gen haystack, but maybe you should wait

Nothing is true, except Ezio collection leaks

Just as Destructoid’s very own assassins Brett and Peter uncovered, Ubisoft has now finally announced Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The fifth Assassin’s Creed collection will have the three games starring Ezio: Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Also included are all single-player DLC, the two films Assassin’s Creed Lineage and Assassin’s Creed Embers, and a ticket to the upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed film releasing on December 21, 2016.

The Ezio Collection will release on November 15, 2016 in North America and two days later on November 17, 2016 in Europe. Check out the announcement trailer:

Now the bad news: the highly innovative and insanely fun multiplayer modes of Brotherhood and Revelations will not be included. Way to miss the proverbial QTE hug, Ubisoft.

In addition to missing multiplayer, you might rightfully be wondering where Altair and Connor are, who have yet to be given the PS4/Xbox One make-over. Remember how I said this is the fifth AC collection? Well it’s not even the first Ezio collection. The Ezio Trilogy was a collection of the same three games and some DLC (PS3 only). Then, too, did people wonder why the original Assassin’s Creed wasn’t included.

Less than a month after The Ezio TrilogyAssassin’s Creed Anthology was released, featuring not only the three Ezio games but also the original AC along with ACIII and all DLC for the five titles. The next year, Assassin’s Creed Heritage was released, featuring the same five games as Anthology but with no DLC and a cheaper price. Although these two collections were only released in Europe, if precedent is anything to go by we could be getting a better collection with more titles included in the near future. Especially since there is no new title releasing this year, and because the original is still a good game that gets knocked more than it should.
