We just got a note tonight from I-Mockery’s RoG with some pretty awesome news. For years, I-Mockery have been working on a game paying tribute to the 8-Bit days of gaming. It’s called Abobo’s Big Adventure and attendees of San Diego Comic-Con are going to get a chance to try it out. Abobo (pictured above in the handlebar mustache) is of course one of the bosses from the Double Dragon series. The marquee also pictures are Punch-Out‘s Little Mac, Jaws, and The Amazon from Pro Wrestling. Quite the cast.
At the I-Mockery Productions booth (#A-10), Abobo’s Big Adventure will be on-hand in a custom arcade cabinet, just begging for people to play it. RoG has claimed it will be, “the largest tribute to the classic NES that the world has ever seen,” and, “the game that every kid who grew up on the classic NES dreamed of.” As Vincent Vega once said to Lance, “That’s a bold statement.” Here’s hoping the game can live up to it.
Not going to Comic-Con? There’s a flash demo you can try right now. Instead of playing as Billy or Jimmy you’ll take control of Abobo, fighting your way through the streets of various NES classics like, Kung-Fu, Ninja Gaiden, and even Super Mario Brothers. We pray Nintendo’s lawyers lets this fan game live the light of day.
Check out more of the above promotional image below and some screens. Riddle me this: What would your perfect NES tribute game be like?
