Evo’s finest moment recreated in Mega Man-o-vision

In Dtoid’s recent review of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition, I said that 3rd Strike is the most balanced game in the Street Fighter series. Some people scoffed at that idea, touting character tiers (based on 3rd Strike tournament results) like they were “facts”, and not the small collection of stats based on a highly unusual sample population that they are. I could go on about that, but I’m going to save that for larger write up in the future.

For now, check out this the famous “The Beast is unleashed” 3rd Strike moment from from Evo 2004, now recreated in Mega Man-style graphics. You can debate 3rd Strike‘s balance all you want, but there is no denying that 3rd Strike‘s parry system is responsible for what is arguably the most memorable (and tier defying) moment in competitive fighting game history.

Remember folks, if you’re getting your butt kicked by Chun Li or Yun in 3rd Strike: Online, it’s not the game’s fault. It’s your fault for not parrying enough.
