The deadly mass shooting at a Madden 19 tournament in Jacksonville, Florida is already causing organizers of other events to reevaluate security. While we’re still trying to find the answers to the many questions we have about the shooting, the team behind the EVO Championship Series has announced it’s being proactive about protecting participants at the world’s largest fighting game tournament. Starting in 2019, the organization is installing metal detectors for all days of EVO.

This is the first of what I’m sure will be many different organizations to take precautions going forward because of this tragedy.
