Rumors are flying, and Nintendo is taking the stage. It’s time for a Direct that could be big.
After revealing more of the Ocarina of Time remake, Nintendo is now ready to drop an even longer showcase to show off upcoming Switch 2 games launching throughout the end of 2026 and even further beyond.

Nintendo Direct September 2026 – Everything announced
The show is about to begin. It’s scheduled to last around 45 minutes and there will be a Treehouse presentation afterwards. What are you expecting to see?
Monster Hunter Wilds and Ascendance
First up is Monster Hunter Wilds and its Ascendance DLC, which are both coming to Switch 2 for the first time. It supports local play for those of us who have IRL friends. It’s launching on Dec. 4, and Ascendance will follow in 2027.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Crisis Core
A new trailer for the finale to the FF7 remake trilogy, it’s launching on Switch 2 alongside all other platforms on April 8. Crisis Core: FF7 Reunion is also launching on Switch 2, later today.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition
The Dynasty Warriors-style Zelda game is coming to Switch 2, now enhanced for the new console, and with a new difficulty mode. It’s launching on Feb. 25, 2027.
Meccha Chameleon
The viral hide-and-seek game is coming to Switch 2 later today.
Pokémon Pokopia – DLC part 2
The new expansion for Pokopia is all about accessorizing your pocket monsters, giving them sunglasses, ribbons, and other cute clothing items. New monsters including Doduo, Skitty, Braixen, and more will be added as well. It’s releasing later this year.
Star Fox updates
A free update for the new Star Fox game adds split-screen for Battle Mode, along with three new stages, coming on Sept. 29. Star Fox Adventures is also coming to Nintendo Classics for GameCube today.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered
The classic RPG’s updated edition is coming to Switch 2 later this month. The Songs of the Past DLC is also coming to the console in 2027.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Royal Edition
Another top-tier RPG comes to Switch 2. It includes the base game plus more, and launches in 2027.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – New trailer
The next entry in the RPG franchise launches next week.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
The new whodunit launches on Dec. 10.
Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain
Nintendo confirmed a new game is in development in this series.
Pikmin 4 – Switch 2 Edition
Another Switch 2 port of an existing game, this one features enhanced visuals, voice commands using the console’s built-in mic, a new mode called Dandori Academy, and more. It launches on Nov. 12.
Onyx: The Dark Grip
A spooky Switch 2 game is in development from Bloober Team with all sorts of touch controls to use in handheld mode, which is where it must be played exclusively. It’s coming in 2027.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Switch 2 Edition
An updated version of the RPG is coming with a survival mode and other enhancements, like a new hero named Shimmer. It’s launching later this year on Dec. 3.
Stage Fright
An escape room-inspired coming-of-age journey, this game allows you to swap between three playable characters to navigate through environments. It’s coming to Switch 2 and Switch next year.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea
A new paid DLC featuring Disney characters like Megara and Jack Sparrow allows you to become a mermaid and more, dropping in November.
Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya’s Tasty Tale
A music-based puzzler where you use a spoon to solve issues comes in 2027.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
The latest LEGO Batman game is finally coming to Switch 2 next week on Sept. 18.
Kirby Air Riders – New Amiibo
Sword Kirby and Dragoon plus Noir Dedede and Hydra are coming as new Amiibo on Nov. 12.
Cairn
Climb. Keep climbing. The climbing simulator hits Switch 2 early next year, and it’s got a demo on the eShop today.
Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remakes
Capcom’s excellent remakes hit Switch 2 in a triple collection coming next month.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
The new Tomb Raider remake hits Switch 2 alongside other platforms next year on Feb. 12.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
A new Nintendo Sports motion controls game hits with jet skis, planes, skateboarding, and more as you explore a relaxing resort in open-world fashion alongside traditional minigames. An offline Island Crown mode lets you play against AI competitors, too…including the diabolical MATT! It drops on Switch 2 on Oct. 22.
Metroid Ravenous
Samus is back! A new 2D Metroid is in development! The follow-up to Metroid Dread looks incredible. “It’s eat or be eaten,” she says. The game launches on Jan. 28, 2027, with new Amiibo and a special edition to boot.
Mario Kart World – Free update
A new update for Mario Kart World will add courses from Super Mario Kart to VS Race mode, plus two new routes for Knockout Tour: Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally. The update is launching today.
Mega Man: Dual Override
Nintendo and Mega Man. It just makes sense. Proto Man joins the fight in this new trailer for the latest in the long-running classic franchise, coming in spring 2027. Mega Man and Proto Man Amiibo will launch with it.
Eternal Anima
A charming-looking REPG takes place in a world covered in water where you time travel to try and save everyone. It’s coming on March 4.
Danganronpa 2×2
A new Slayhem Mode is a highlight in the new franchise entry, coming to Switch 2 and Switch on Jan. 14.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
The upcoming fighting game, including its season pass characters like Chun Li, is coming to Switch 2 on Oct. 22.
Metal Slug Ultimate Collection
Metal Slug 1-6, Metal Slug X, 7, Advance, plus more bring 10 games to the Switch 2 in 2027.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX
Enhancements are coming to the port when it drops on Feb. 16.
Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United
Another remake, this one includes new visuals, cutscenes, and more will be the highlight when it drops on Feb. 16.
