Nintendo has dropped a surprise Wii channel on the Japanese today, and we're more than a little jealous. Called "Minna no Nintendo" (translated as "Everybody's Nintendo"), the channel lets gamers view videos of various Nintendo games, and view DS and Wii release lists, as well as (and here's the big one!) send game demos to the Nintendo DS using local Wi-Fi.
But let's not get too envious just yet -- according to Japanese Wii owners on NeoGAF, the channel currently only features an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto about the fat burning Wii Fit, and the demos only include Namco Bandai's Tamagotchi game, Brain Age 2, and other games in the Touch Generations series. OK, fine ... we're still very jealous.
The channel also features the ability to rate games that they own, by leaving feedback in multiple categories. Categories include how casual or hardcore a game may be, difficulty level, and overall title quality.
No word on when the channel will be available in other territories, but it seems like a no brainer -- this may be the most exciting Wii channel yet, and one that owners have been clamoring for since launch.
