Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is probably coming to Steam

Everybody’s Gone to Steam, more like

My 2015 Game of the Year was The Chinese Room’s Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. It’s a beautiful game with a fantastic story, and easily the best soundtrack a game has had in a very in a long time. And now the chances of it coming to Steam have just massively increased.

It was included in the big list of leaked upcoming Steam games a while ago, however there was no information about the game added at the time, so it could’ve just been a placeholder.

Now it’s been discovered that banner art was added to the game’s Steam database entry yesterday, meaning it may well be gearing up for an announcement very soon.

It’s worth pointing out that while I consider this to be pretty conclusive evidence that a PC release is in the works, it’s not official until The Chinese Room announces it. But honestly, why would it put this much effort into updating a placeholder we knew about weeks ago, if it was never intended for release?

I really hope we get an official confirmation very soon. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is the sort of game I wish more people had played and enjoyed, so it being available on a whole new platform is really exciting.
