Even with this story trailer, I still have no idea what Control is about

This is an ordinary song about an ordinary girl…

As excited as I am for Control, I really couldn’t tell you what it’s all about. Even with this latest trailer, about the only thing I understand is that something called “The Hiss” is taking over society and you have to stop it. At least, I think that’s what is going on, but I’m not sure. Maybe you’re in an imaginary world doing imaginary things and gun icons are floating above you. This could all be a computer game, Max.

At any rate, I’ve been impressed with each of Remedy’s past games and Control looks to be its most gameplay focused title yet. I’m sure we’ll get some kind of deep, well thought out plot to dig into, but I’m all for putting an emphasis on mechanics over long cutscenes. Quantum Break might have had a very well written story, but it certainly could have done without the five-hour mini-series attached to it.

With both James McCaffrey and Matthew Porretta returning, too, this could be the most Remedy-ass Remedy game ever.

UK exclusive: Control‘s new trailer is an eerie warning about The Hiss [VG 24/7]
