Need more proof than the massive team that Epic Mickey is definitely a third-party AAA title on the Wii? Like all good AAA titles, it’s getting a comic book spin-off. Well, not exactly a comic book — a graphic novel and a digital comic available for all those digital things starting with an lowercase “i” and an uppercase “P.”
The “Digicomics” will be called “Tales of the Wasteland,” and there will be six of them — penned by Peter David and illustrated by Claudio Sciarrone — each eight pages long. They will, of course, take place in settings from the game, but there is no word on plot. On the graphic novel side of things, we’ll be seeing a whopping 64-page print and digital comic coming our way. This one is being written by Peter David, and featuring artwork by Paolo Mottura and Fabio Celoni.
Hopefully these two comics fill in even more of the already awesome-sounding world that Epic Mickey takes place in. I think there are plenty of amazing stories to tell there. No release date info on them yet, but I’m sure it will coincide with the game’s fall arrival.
