Enslaved developer talks characters, stacks boxes

Yesterday we posted the latest cinematic trailer for Ninja Theory’s Enslaved. Jim went on and on about how it looks beautiful, and it is. Unsurprisingly, the developers are pretty high on the game, as evinced by this first Enslaved developer diary.

This one is all about character building and story development. The characters, Monkey and Trip. The former is a brutish warrior of a man, the latter a brilliant tech-head who forces Monkey to help get her home. The story is loosely based on Journey to the West, and written by screenwriter Alex Garland; Ninja Theory says they wanted to playing the game to feel as much like a film as possible.

It’s a pretty long video, even if you only watch the neat stuff the developers do with boxes to display game footage. I’m not explaining that; just watch.
