Eminem’s new album cheaper if you pre-order COD: Ghosts

REMEMBER ME?!

Well, this is something completely different. Today, Activision has announced that by pre-ordering Call of Duty: Ghosts at GameStop, you’ll earn yourself a “discounted” download for the special edition of Eminem’s new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 at $8.99. Both will launch on November 5th, and you’ll have until November 19th to redeem the offer.

Eminem has long been a part of the Call of Duty franchise funnily enough, dating all the way back to Call of Duty: Black Ops. While I’m not opposed to financial partnerships like this as they make perfect sense for blockbuster games, I’m not sure a discounted album is enough of a promotion to really entice me to pre-order it at GameStop. Now if Activision bought millions of copies and gave them to customers for free like Samsung did to promote Jay Z’s new album, that would be a pretty big deal.
