Dev needs your help on Kickstarter
Not everyone can make chiptunes. Look, I’m a classically trained musician and I have trouble making them. My last creation sounded like a TurboGrafx-16 farted and then poured acid on itself.
iOS and Android app eJay Pure hopes to make the process easier for us when it hits both platforms later this year. The song construction software is catering to the chiptune genre for the first time with a 1,000 sample pack, letting you stack together your own game-like tunes. So 8-bit!
eJay Pure is a retooling of the popular PC music-making software for touch-screen mobile devices. The silly video above does a good job of showing how the app will work.
They need our help (via Kickstarter) to get things going, though. One of the best rewards has a supporter’s song featured as the opening track of the game.
If you’d like a sample of…well, samples from the upcoming collection, the latest update on their Kickstarter page has some of them bundled for free.
