Edmund McMillen teases upcoming reveals with a pixel smudge

I bet it has something to do with videogames

Edmund McMillen, creator of Binding of Isaac and one half of Team Meat (Mewgenics, Super Meat Boy) is excited and I don’t know why. Maybe you can figure it out.

Edmund recently tweeted “the weekend is totally nuts, 2 major pending announcements… one of them will make some fans VERY happy 🙂 this year is going to rock” and then followed that up with pixelated image seen above. It looks like something Time Fcuk related to me, but that’s a total shot in the dark.

Given that Edmund is talking about something for this year, we can guess that he’s talking about a previously announced game. That leaves Mewgenics and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Perhaps coincidentally, Tyrone Rodriguez, Isaac: Rebirth‘s publisher, has been making a lot of noise lately about the game’s theoretical release on the 3DS. He’s shown off mock-ups of how the game’s icon would look on the 3DS dashboard and 3DS screenshots, some of  which can be viewed in 3D using on your 3DS via QR code. He’s also given us a look at how the game would look on the Virtual Boy, which is pretty hot right now.

Is there a connection here? We’ll find out soon enough.
