For those beyond the cultural heft of sports, the Super Bowl is this weekend. A lot of people are going to be tweeting about it and, more annoyingly, a lot of people are going to be tweeting in complaint about people tweeting about it.
If Madden 13 has anything to say about it, though, you might as well not watch, as the winner has already been decided: the Baltimore Ravens. Given that the simulation has only missed twice since 2004 (picking the Steelers over the Packers was a silly move), there might just be something in the result. Then again, that might just be my confirmation bias talking, as I expect the Ravens to the pull out the victory.
It’s also worth noting that Madden is typically pretty off when it comes to predicting final scores regardless of winner. The idea that a free running Ray Lewis in his final game puts unaccounted for pressure on the young Kaepernick to force an errant throw to an aging Moss that gets picked off by Ed Reed to seal the game is a little bit Hollywood, too. Then again, crazier things have happened.
