EA releasing three new scores in the next few weeks

EA has been ramping up its music release for the past few years since launching EA Recordings in order to release games’ soundtracks on their own. The latest three to hit the market will be for their three biggest games coming out in the next months: Mass Effect 2 (Jan. 18), Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Feb. 1) and Dante’s Inferno (Feb. 8). It’s most likely that all three albums will be released as digital downloads via iTunes.

As far as the releases go they all seem pretty intriguing. Mass Effect 2‘s will be a two disc release with 27 tracks and over two hours of music. The score will be by Jack Wall who has composed music for the Myst franchise and Splinter Cell. Bad Company 2 is a little less exciting with only 11 tracks and just 20 minutes of music.

I’m probably most excited for Dante’s Inferno as Garry Schyman is composing the music. He did the amazing, moving and impressive score for BioShock. It’s one of my favorite scores ever, and if he’s up to that standard for Inferno then the game might be worth buying just for that. This sucker will be a two disc release as well with 41 tracks and over two hours of music.
