It makes sense that there would be far more PCs out there than there are game consoles and portables. But not all of these computers are used for gaming…yet. Electronic Arts’ CFO Eric Brown says things are looking up for PCs and gaming, going as far as to say that “the PC is becoming the largest gaming platform in the world.”
“In terms of distribution, the way we look at a lot what’s happening in the future is, we’ve got probably a billion PCs out there in the world,” said Brown.
“As you look at what that means in terms of distribution of product, we think that’s incredibly exciting because it’s going to open the market to new demographics, new countries and new types of gameplay.
With digital direct revenue raking in over $400 million for the company last year, I’d say something is working. Maybe digital distribution has been the answer this whole time. With what Brown estimates is about a billion PCs out there, the sky’s the limit.
