EA, look at you! You’re right up there with all the mega-rich companies that bought Super Bowl ad space. But you’re not mega-rich. Regardless, you’ll have “at least one spot” during the big game? Nice.

The pricing for a 30-second spot is estimated to be between $2.5 million and $2.8 million. Where did you get that kind of cash, EA? And what are you working on that you’d spend that much money on? Dante’s Inferno? Cool game, but I don’t know that spending 2.5 million is going to help you sell more copies. Maybe a sports title? Nah, that would be silly.

In related but not game-related news, Denny’s also has a spot. Denny’s. Last year they gave Grand Slam breakfasts to millions. Maybe EA should give away some games.
