EA: Arnold Schwarzenegger is a hypocrite

Recommended Videos

You know it, I know it, everyone knows that Arnold “violent games are evil but please keep watching Terminator films” Schwarzenegger is a ridiculous hypocrite. Despite it being common knowledge, however, videogame industry members rarely call him on his bullsh*t in the terms that he deserves. Fortunately, Jeff Green has stepped in to take the slack.

“Here’s the thing, though. As bloody as this movie may be, it’s not actually illegal for a theater to sell a minor a ticket to this movie, nor is it illegal for a parent to let his or her kid in with them,” said the EA.com editor-in-chief while talking about Arnold’s latest movie appearance, The Expendables. “… So when you see young teenagers or little kids sitting with their parents at The Expendables next month for two hours of bloody carnage, this is why. It’s not illegal. And it’s not news.

“If Schwarzenegger really believed in the underlying message of the law with his name on it — that it should be illegal to sell or rent material deemed excessively violent for kids — then he should take the first step and make it illegal for kids to see The Expendables. Until then, this is all nothing but hypocrisy of the highest order.”

Unfortunately, people like “The Governator” are allowed to be massive hypocrites because the majority of the population are too damn stupid to put two-and-two together. People are so compartmentalized when it comes to issues like this that the average pleb will see Arnold fighting the good fight against videogames and never stop to think about his blood-drenched movies. Chances are good that not even Arnold himself sees the hypocrisy. He wasn’t elected for his brains.

In other news, people are dumbasses. More at eleven.
