EA announces new Star Wars game from the makers of Titanfall

No substantial news yet

Now that Star Wars is even more relevant coming off of a billion dollar plus grossing film, EA is set to capitalize on that success as much as it possibly can with the license. Those plans include a brand new game in conjunction with Respawn Entertainment, the developers of Titanfall. God of War III director Stig Asmussen will lead the project.

It will be an “all-new third person action adventure game” set in the Star Wars universe, and that’s basically all we know at the moment. Personally, I think it’ll be interesting to see what the studio can do outside of the confines of an FPS that was basically created to ape Call of Duty with mechs in it.

EA also hints in that same breath that Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, and Motive are all still working on projects of their own. So yeah — Star Wars — it’s not going away anytime soon!
