E3: THQ investor call paints a brighter future

Recommended Videos

In an early morning investor call, publisher THQ revealed a stronger than expected 4th quarter for 2012 and bullish hopes for the future. President Richard Farrell confirmed the sale of the UFC license to EA which he described as a “win/win situation”and he also stated THQ’s desire to be an industry leader.

New president Jason Rubin was also positive on THQ’s future, claiming that the industry had stagnated over the previous few years and that the top publishers were rarely challenged. Rubin also pointed towards emerging distribution methods on PC as helping changing the industry and he believes that THQ have the studios in place to take full advantage.

Despite the closure of their San Diego studio, the THQ brass are painting a positive picture for their future. I suppose in this era of studio closures and uncertainty, you always have to look on the bright side.
