E3: No Beyond Good & Evil 2 until ‘next generation’

According to an article at GamesIndustry, Michel Ancel (the creator of Rayman and the incredible Beyond Good & Evil) has just confirmed that the highly anticipated Beyond Good & Evil 2 “will not be released on the current genertaion of consoles.”

Ancel goes on to say that the game is still in development (and quite far along), but his team has been so focused on Rayman Origins that Beyond Good & Evil 2 will have to wait … for now.

I think I knew Beyond Good & Evil 2 would not be announced at the Ubisoft press conference, but part of me still thought it may happen. And all of me really, really wanted it to happen. Beyond Good & Evil 2, for me, has become the new Pikmin 3. They both apparently exist, but they will never apparently be officially announced.

What do you think? Does this news bum you out? Or does the revelation that it is still coming (and for a more powerful console, even!) make you happy.
