E3: Justin.tv launches TwitchTV: Pro gaming gameplay vids

Do you like watching StarCraft II strategy videos? Then you’ll dig this.

Our friends at Justin.tv have announced a new site called Twitch TV, a site dedicated to showcasing gameplay video from their most popular gaming broadcasters. The premise is simple: here’s where you can discover the best players and games. Spinning it off as its own site makes a lot of sense given how big the gaming community is on JTV: 3.2 million unique readers, 4.5 hours of video viewed per user per month, and 45 million video views each month.

The site launched yesterday and features a content such as e-sports live streams, amateur action, and gaming commentary for competitive digital entertainment. Expect to see real-time strategy, first-person shooters, fighting games, and other genres. We think it’s pretty cool that e-sports seems to continue gaining speed, and are totally bitter this wasn’t around in the ’80s.
