E3: Feast your eyes on South Park’s glorious stick

I can’t speak for everyone, but — SCREW IT — I’m going to speak for everyone: South Park: The Stick of Truth was the best part of Microsoft’s press conference. Even as someone who fell out of love with the show long ago, I’m very excited for Obsidian’s perverse, manic RPG.

Alongside some screenshots and a game trailer, THQ have unveiled to us their plans for DLC. Because, you know, that’s what we want to hear about before anything else, right?

First up is the “Good Times With Weapons” pack, a pre-order-exclusive bunch of weapons and costumes (Bulrog Chicken Attack, Cartman’s Kick-Ass Sai, and the Samurai Costume) based on a classic South Park episode. A separate package of pre-order DLC, the “Mysterion Superhero Pack” (also taken from a fan-favorite episode), is exclusive to the Xbox 360. It contains the Superhero Costume, the Mysterion Special Attack, and the Dagger of Cthulhu.

In addition, Microsoft has secured timed exclusivity for the game’s first three downloadable episode packs. They’re “standalone adventures featuring their own stories, taking you to places in South Park you’ve never been before.” I can’t wait! Finally, the game will support Kinect voice commands. Hopefully it will recognize my pitiful Cartman imitation.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is due out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on March 5, 2013. Check out the E3 trailer above and ten screenshots in the gallery below.
