E3 10: Your first-look trailer for the Warhammer 40k MMO

Another contender is stepping up to take on the MMO giant that is World of Warcraft, and this time it’s the folks over at Vigil Games (the dudes who brought us Darksiders) and THQ, who are bringing us Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online for PC. For those unfamiliar with the Warhammer 40,000 universe, humanity has expanded into the far reaches of space, and they are dealing with the consequences of contact with both friendly and hostile alien cultures.

The gameplay appears to revolve around two of the main factions in Warhammer 40,000: the Imperium of Man and the Orks. Fans of Warhammer will have to explain more — I could never get into the series. I bought the figurines once, but my art skills are so terrible that I painted one and then was so embarrassed I never touched them again.

Vigil Games has stated that more specific details about Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online will be available this August at gamescom.
