E3 10: THQ confirms Saints Row movie, more major talent

Recommended Videos

Of all the games out there that I’d like to see made into movies, Saints Row doesn’t even begin to appear on my list, and yet that’s one of the ones being filmed.

THQ has confirmed during a conference call that Saints Row is being adapted to the big screen. THQ is planning to launch the film at the exact same time that Saints Row 3 lands as part of a massive publicity push for the game. THQ’s executive vice president of core games, Danny Bilson, said that the publisher already had a big-name filmmaker tied to the film.

While on the call, Bilson also mentioned that Tomonobu Itagaki, developer of Dead or Alive and the upcoming Devil’s Third, is not the only major game designer that THQ will be partnering with. This is part of their new strategy to lure top game developers instead of purchasing small studios outright. The other big name will be announced shortly, but how shortly we do not know.
