E3 10: The new Silent Hill detailed

At Konami’s press conference here at E3 2010 the new Silent Hill game was detailed. Vatra Games is the producer of the title, which will be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.

we saw a trailer that opened on a rainy, secluded highway. A bus drives by and one of its passengers, a man in handcuffs, seems to be shaking. A flashback shows him running through a forest, trying to escape a policewoman. This man runs into Silent Hill’s city limits and works his way down into its streets, finding that he’s stuck there, with the now classic image of the streets being cut off.

He takes shelter inside, finds a flashlight, and begins looking around inside a building. It’s deserted and run down, but he does uncover a gun. All of the sudden, the house goes wild and begins to shake. Soon there’s images of this man in jail, but the jail transforms into a darker version of itself, in classic Silent Hill style.

In one scene, he shoots a monster that turns out to be a human. At the end of the trailer the same bus is shown driving over the broken road. Fade to black.

After the trailer it was revealed that the music for this game will be composed by the guy behind the music of television show Dexter, Daniel Licht. Vatra says that more reveals are planned soon.
