Out of all the Kinect demos shown during the Microsoft press conference, we here at Destructoid were the most impressed by Harmonix’s Dance Central. Not only was it by far the most entertaining (seriously, you are not ready for the video we will have up later), it was easily the most technologically impressive.

By standing in the middle of the room, Dance Central uses Kinect to follow your dance moves as you dance to a a variety of pop and hip-hop music. It looks like Rock Band meets Just Dance. According to Harmonix executive Alex Rigopulos, there will be music from many different artists (including Lady Gaga, No Doubt, and the Beastie Boys), over 600 moves, and 90 dance routines.

Using authentic choreography and the advanced technology of Kinect, Dance Central will even teach you how to dance in real-life! I hate to brag, but I did receive the Best Dancer senior superlative in my high school yearbook, so … yeah … I may be tough to beat in this game. I’m just sayin’.
