E3 09: Bit Boy!! announced for WiiWare

One of my favorite segments of RetroforceGO! are Colette’s WiiWare reviews, simply because of the ridiculously titled games and the ensuing five-minute long Chad laugh. Unfortunately, developer Bplus seems set to ruin this weekly ritual by announcing a WiiWare game that not only has a decent title, but actually looks quite promising. The game in question, Bit Boy!!, features the single-pixilated protagonist Kubi, as he travels across increasingly higher bit worlds — starting from 4-bit and going all the way up to 128-bit — in search of his kidnapped friends.

“With Bit Boy!!, we created a fantastic new arcade adventure that is delivered together with all its never-before-seen prequels from the different videogame eras,” says Bplus art director Bernd Geiblinger. “From ages 14 to 40, each Bit Generation will spark true retro feelings in all players when they set off in the ultimate pursuit of fruits and highscores.”

Sounds good to me. There’s no word of a release date — or clarification on what types of fruit you’ll be pursing — but we’ll let you know when we catch wind of one.
