E3 08: Red Faction: Guerrilla takes destructible environments to the next level

Recommended Videos

Since we entered into this generation of consoles, I have patiently waited for a game that could truly deliver realistic destruction on a massive scale. Thousands of games have come to market since then, but none have allowed me to satisfy my need to blow sh*t up … until now.

After the break, you’ll find a video in which the fine people at Volition, Inc. give us a glimpse of what to expect from their upcoming third-person shooter, Red Faction: Guerrilla. Hint: the freedom to demolish everything, and then some.

I find it funny that Guerrilla‘s destruction engine is so powerful that the enviornment and structure artists had to learn how to create technically sound buildings to prevent them from falling to peices upon being placed inside the game. Now that’s dedication.
