DTOID Extra: LEAP’s motion-control makes Kinect look dumb

Recommended Videos

The LEAP is essentially a precision Kinect that senses various types of gestures in a 3D space, and can be used for a whole ton of stuff besides Fruit Ninja and dance games. The video on the LEAP’s website makes it look like something straight out of a science fiction movie, so going in, I was skeptical. After getting my hands on a prototype device, and fooling around in a couple different applications and demos, I’m really excited about the trouble I could get into with a LEAP. Online ticklefight deathmatch, anyone?

These are currently available for pre-order for 70 bucks, and they’re expecting to ship sometime this winter.
