DRM for Super Street Fighter IV: AE PC less annoying now

The Internet went a little mad recently when Capcom talked about the PC version of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, which uses Games for Windows Live and has some rather unfortunate restrictions for those playing offline.

The kicker was that in offline play without a GFWL profile, only 15 characters would be playable. Seriously, that was going to be a thing. Thankfully, it’s no longer the plan. Senior VP Christian Svensson writes on Capcom-Unity:

“Shortly after launch (it might even be at launch, but we’ll see how submission timing and approval goes) we will roll out a small title update that will completely remove the character limitations for offline mode. That is to say, once you’ve updated, you will be able to use all 39 characters when not connected to the Internet …”

Good job with the complaining there, guys.

[Thanks, Gilberto]
