Dragon’s Dogma 2: Where to get Rift Crystals fast and where to spend them

More money, more problems.

Rift Crystals (or just RC as they are commonly referred) are a currency in Dragon’s Dogma 2. They’re less straightforward to get than gold, but they have some important uses. If you want to get them fast, here are some ideas.

Getting Rift Crystals fast

You get Rift Crystals from a variety of sources in Dragon’s Dogma 2. They can even be found in chests and dropped by enemies, though this is the slowest and rarest way to get them.

Another way is by activating Rift Stones throughout the world. You should probably just be doing this anyway, but it gives you a small amount of RC by doing so. Personally, I think this is just a bonus on top of the Rift Stone activation. It’s a slow and limited way to gather RC.

The best and quickest way to get Rift Crystals is simply by having a pawn that people will hire. Whenever another player hires your pawn through the Rift, you’ll gain an amount of compensation based on the time they spent together. For me, I rarely saw this under 100RC, and sometimes my pawn returned with over 500.

If you want to gain as much as possible, have a capable pawn that stands out. This could be having a unique appearance or a desired specialization. It’s hard to really guess what players are going to prefer, but generally, appearance and skills are what you need to focus on. Even still, I never had a problem having my Pawn hired just based on player activity.

If this isn’t consistent enough for your needs, you can also have a friend recruit your pawn. In the Great Riftstone you can search for Pawns using different criteria, one of them being Pawns that belong to people in your friends list. If you have a lot of friends who owe you a lot of favors, you can easily rake in the RC. Doing so is potentially the most consistent and fastest way to get Rift Crystals.

In order to collect your Pawn’s pay, you need to sleep at an inn or house. At that point, you’ll be given a rundown of their activities.

Finally, you can pay realworld money for RC on whatever storefront you purchased that game from. I don’t feel this is necessary, but at the very least, it’s not terribly expensive. I wouldn’t recommend it because RC tends to be easy to come by, but I’m not going to tell you how you should spend your money.

Where to spend Rift Crystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You can spend Rift Crystals at a place near the Great Riftstone of Vermund in Vernworth. There’s a shopkeep to the left of the stone if you’re coming through the front door. Aside from the Rift Stone, he’s really the only other occupant of that building.

With him, you can spend crystals to buy some cosmetic gear (glasses), buy scrolls that change your pawn’s disposition, and also buy “The Art of Metamorphosis,” which allows you to change you or your Pawn’s appearance.

The best way to spend them, perhaps, is to pay to get Pawns that are above your Arisen’s level. Any Pawn that is at or below your Arisen’s level will be free to recruit. However, if there’s one you want that is above your Arisen’s level, it gets more expensive for each level. If there’s nothing you want in the store, why not spend the RC on picking up an overpowered Pawn? At least then you could keep them in your party longer without needing to replace them.
