Beta test will begin on March 6

We still lack a Western release announcement for the “oh so horribly performing Dragon Quest X, but Japan finally has a solid date for the Wii U version: March 30. It will cost ¥6980 (~$74) and include 20 free days of play.

The game’s beta will begin on March 6, open to players with a Certificate of Registration currently included in Wii U Premium Sets. Characters you use in the beta can then be transferred into the final version of the game.

To sweeten the pot even further, a DQX hardware bundle will go on sale for ¥42,000 (~$447). It’ll include the black Premium Wii U, the game itself, a Pro Controller, a ¥1000 prepaid card, and five in-game super health orbs. Nintendo will also sell a limited number of DQX-themed prepaid cards in ¥3000 denominations.

Did I mention there will be off-TV play with the GamePad? Yeah, that too.
