Dr Octoroc pays tribute to Dr. Horrible with 8-bit ‘game’

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog was quite the internet sensation a couple of years ago when it released. Yesterday Doctor Octoroc, the chiptune genius who brought us the 8-Bit Jesus collection of holiday tunes, released the first of three Flash movies recreating the individual acts of the musical in the style of an 8-bit RPG.

The sprite art and musical adaptations are excellent here and I love all the little RPG touches. I would totally play this game if it were real. Since it’s not, I’ll just sit with baited breath to see how the rest of the videos shape up. I’m dying to see how the first song of the second act, “My Eyes,” is represented.

On a related note, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog will be coming out on Blu-Ray on May 25th. If you like Dr. Horrible and haven’t supported it financially yet, shame on you. Go buy a DVD or a soundtrack or something.

8-BIT DR. HORRIBLE (ACT 1) IS FINISHED! [Doctor Octoroc — Thanks, Sentry!]
