Doom goes adorable with miniaturized sprites

Doom has always been one of my all-time favorite games, and a large part of that is thanks to the distinct art style. Imagine my surprise, then, when I stumbled across the latest series on Caleb Hystad’s 8×8 Pixel blog.

He’s managed to make some of Doom‘s more recognizable sprites, well, cute. Those demons may want to tear your face off, but you can’t stay mad at them when they whip out the puppy-dog eyes. What I wouldn’t pay to be able to play a reworked version of the game using Hystad’s art.

I’m seriously contemplating purchasing a print of the Space Marine one. Darn you, Internet.
