Don’t worry guys, World of Warcraft is fine

While The Old Republic is leaking subscribers left and right, World of Warcraft is still going strong, despite being on the market for nearly eight years. Even though it previously lost around two million subscribers last year, as of today, Activision reports that World of Warcraft still has 10.2 million paying customers: despite recent rumors of dropping below 10 million.

Blizzard CEO Michael Morhaime had this to say regarding recent activity, “What I can say is that we made a large content update towards the end of Q4, each did help us out a lot on player engagement. And we expect to see increased engagement with the launch of Mists of Pandaria.”

Well, he is right about that, as I’ll definitely be going back to WoW for Mists of Pandaria: if only to experience the new 85-90 content. Expansion aside, the new raid finder utility that’s currently implemented is also extremely well done — if only The Old Republic could get any sort of group finder.
