I’ve been a pretty big fan of Dance Central since the first time I saw it at E3. Take a look at my preview, and you can tell I think the game is pretty damn fun. Built from the ground up for the Kinect device, Dance Central is quickly becoming the flagship title for Microsoft’s magic camera, as well as yet another polarizing game between hardcore and casual gamers.

I had a chance to chat with Dance Central‘s Project Director Kasson Crooker, and we bantered a bit about building the game, addressing dance culture, the impact of downloadable content (don’t expect weekly downloads like Rock Band), and a bit more. It’s a pretty fascinating interview, interspersed with shots of our own Dan Lingen rocking the floor and of myself trying my best to keep up with some of the dance routines. This game is hard!
